Linzertorte Pie Dough

Ingredients:

    Serving Size : 6
  • 7 ounces all-purpose flour
  • 3 ounces hazelnuts
  • 6 ounces sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves -- ground
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 6 ounces butter -- cool
  • 1 each egg
  • 1 each egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions and Comments:

Roast and peel the skin from the hazelnuts. In a food processor, grind the nuts until they are a fine crumby texture. Add the flour, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and baking powder to the food processor. Cut the butter into small cubes. With the processor on medium speed, add the butter cubes and blend until the mix looks sandy.

Beat the vanilla, the egg, and egg yolk together and stir it into the dough with a fork. Use this dough for pies and cookie shapes.
