Basics
Chervil is a mild flavored member of the parsley family. Used in heavily in European countries such as France and Spain.
Producers
Chervil grows very well in warm climates and is cultivated all over the world along side Parsley and Cilantro. I have had great luck with this herb in a flower pot on the patio.
Aromatics and Flavors
Chervil is Very aromatic with hints of anise. The flavor is the same and a bit spicy when tasted by itself.
Culinary Uses
Use fresh and toward the end of the cooking process. The flavors tend to dissipate when boiled or cooked for a long period of time. Use when cooking any fish or shellfish. Mix into tomato sauces and pasta dishes containing seafood or chicken. Chop and garnish almost any savory dish.
